Dentures
Our on-site denture lab strives to provide the highest quality complete and partial dentures.
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available: Complete and Partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
Options available for Partial dentures are:
- Cast Metal Partial Dentures: Cast metal partial dentures are the most common type of removable partial dentures. They consist of a gum-colored acrylic base with an underlying metal framework and false teeth. The denture base is held in place by two or more clasps, usually made of metal. This type of denture has high stability and is resistant to plaque build-up (with proper care). Cast metal partials are an ideal choice for those seeking a long-term solution.
-
ValPlast or Flexible Partial Dentures: Flexible partial dentures are made of a flexible plastic material and are typically a temporary solution for missing teeth. These dentures produce aesthetic results because they blend in with your natural teeth and gum tissue. Flexible partials may be preferred for people who are allergic to acrylic. Valplast is a well-known brand that creates flexible partial dentures. Flexible partial dentures cannot be repaired if they develop a crack or break. You must replace the entire denture.
- Acrylic Partial Dentures: Acrylic or resin partial dentures are made using an acrylic base, plastic replacement teeth, and are typically made with acrylic clasps. An acrylic partial is the most cost-effective type of removable denture but also the least comfortable. They’re not built to last a long time and are used typically for a short-term treatment/replacement option.
Options available for Complete dentures:
Immediate Dentures: Immediate dentures are dentures placed in your mouth on the same day that your teeth are extracted. You’ll wear these for the first several months after having your teeth extracted. Immediate dentures protect your gum tissue as your mouth heals, which can take between 9 to 18 months, while also providing a tooth replacement option to assist with chewing and speaking.
For more information regarding Immediate Dentures please review the following handout we provide to our patients during their initial denture consultation: What to expect with Immediate Dentures
New/Replacement Dentures: Whether you have had dentures in the past or you have had your teeth pulled for quite some time and are now looking for tooth replacement options, our office offers two packages for our patients looking for a new or updated smile.
Our PREMIUM denture is made with traditional cold pour acrylic and economy teeth.
Our PLATINUM denture is made with heat injected material using advanced technology. This material is stain and odor resistant, extending the life of the denture. High-grade denture teeth made with Flexecure material are used to complete the denture set up. These teeth feature 3D multilayering to provide a more lifelike effect and are particularly resistant to fracture, abrasion, and plaque. Characterized anatomy is also added to give the denture a more natural appearance.
Implant Supported Dentures:
Implant supported dentures (also referred to as snap-in/on dentures) are a permanent tooth replacement solution. Implant supported dentures stay firmly in place and allow you to eat foods that traditional dentures do not.
For implant supported dentures, dental implants must be surgically placed into the jawbone and allowed time to heal before beginning the process. Not all patients are candidates for implant placement and additional procedures may be required.
The implant supported denture is not included in the price of the implant placement.
